Hyderabad: The YSR Congress has decided not to support the Land Acquisition Bill unless the government accepts the amendments proposed by the party. The YSRC held a Parliamentary meeting on Sunday at Lotus Pond in Hyderabad.

YSRC MP and party leader in the Lok Sabha Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy said the party will stress on two amendments, one is not allowing acquisition of multi-crop lands,  the other is a compulsory social impact assessment study. YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday discussed the issue with party MPs in the city.

Mr Jagan Reddy asked party leaders to fight for AP’s special status in Parliament. The YSRC is of the opinion that if the Congress and BJP agree, it will be easy to grant special status to AP. The party has also decided to take up the Polavaram issue in Parliament.
