Harvard denies inviting Misa, Lalu Prasad's eldest daughter, to deliver a lecture
Harvard University denied claims of RJD chief's daughter Misa Bharti that she gave a lecture there
Patna: RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav was embarrassed by a row that began when his eldest daughter Misa Bharti’s photographs surfaced in social media purportedly giving a lecture at the Harvard University.
Misa Bharti had released a few photographs to the newspapers along with a press statement saying that she was invited by the university to deliver a lecture at a conference. However, Harvard denied the claims.
Misa was part of audience
Harvard University denied claims of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Misa Bharti that she gave a lecture there. It termed the pictures released by her as a gross misrepresentation. According to reports, the conference was held two days ago, on March 7 and 8, and she had bought a ticket worth $160 to be in the audience to attend and was not invited. “It is a matter of honour for anyone to attend or deliver a lecture. Ms Bharti is in USA at present along with her husband and will be able to clarify her stand only after she returns,” RJD leader Mohammed Neamatullah said.
The other leaders of the RJD, however, remained silent on the issue. Sources said Harvard took very serious note of the issue after they found the pictures posted on her social media account. They said that after the conference, she went up on the stage and asked her friends to take pictures while she posed as if she was giving a speech.
