Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal on Wednesday granted interim stay on allotment of two trainee IAS officers, Srijana Thummala and Shiva Shankar Lathoti to the Telangana State by the Centre. A two member Bench comprising B. Venkateshwara Rao and Ranjana Chowdary granted the interim order while dealing with separate petitions of both the officers challenging their allotment to Telangana State based on wrong service records.

Ms Thummala submitted that she is a native of Chittoor and Shiva Shankar told the Bench he hails from Vizianagaram district. While submitting that they are currently working as trainee assistant collectors in Krishna and Guntur districts, both the officers urged the tribunal to continue them in AP.

Opposing the plea of the petitioners, G. Jayaprakash Babu, the standing counsel of the Centre, said the petitioners have three more months’ time to represent to the authorities. The Bench ordered the authorities not to disturb the duo till
March 25.
