Hyderabad: Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Mr P.C. Parakh denied meeting Kumar Mangalam Birla in his guest house.

“Now that the court has taken cognisance of the case, it would be inappropriate for me to comment in detail on this. It did come as a surprise. The court has its own method of working. So let us see what the court does.”

The CBI has been alleging that Mr Parakh had reconsidered his decision on a coal block allotment as screening committee chairman as part of a criminal conspiracy and had allegedly favoured the company.

Mr Parakh added, “The court has only taken cognisance of the matter, it has not said that I am at fault and there is no judgement as yet in the case.”

Mr Parakh further said he was yet to receive the summons by the special CBI court in the case and came to know about the development through the media only.
