Hyderabad High Court told government not to push auto dealers on MRP

Court asked the government to fix the MRP to sell 8,728 autorickshaws in GHMC limits

Hyderabad: Justice Vilas V. Afzulpurkar of the Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday directed the Telangana government not to insist that autorickshaw dealers sell vehicles as per the maximum retail price set by a four-member committee of the government.
 
The judge granted the interim directions while dealing with a plea filed by Ramcor Marketing (Pvt) Ltd challenging a letter issued by the principal secretary, transport, appointing a committee to fix the MRP to sell 8,728 autorickshaws in GHMC limits in accordance with GO Ms No 14, November 28, 2014. 
 
The judge said that prima facie that the government had no power to fix MRP, and posted the case to March 19.
