London: A British Airways flight has been forced to return to England because of a "stinky poo" left in a toilet.

Passengers were stranded for 15 hours after their flight to Dubai only got as far as Brussels when the pilot made the bizarre announcement that the smell was too unbearable about half and hour into the seven-hour flight, the Daily Star reported.

A Tory councillor from Hertfordshire Abhishek Sachdev tweeted "Insane! Our BA flight to Dubai returned back to Heathrow because of a smelly poo in the toilet! 15hrs until next flight... #britishairways."

The cabin crew was unable to fix the problem and the plane turned around and landed at Heathrow Airport.

Sachdev, who was travelling with his pregnant wife, Rupa, and their two-year-old daughter, Shavrani, said that the pilot made an announcement requesting senior cabin crew.

Sachdev noted that about 10 minutes later the pilot said, "You may have noticed there's a quite pungent smell coming from one of the toilets," adding it was liquid faecal excrement.

He added that the pilot said it's not a technical fault with the plane and he was very adamant about that. The councillor said that BA provided them with accommodation and apologised.
