Headmaster ordered Andhra Pradesh student to undergo pregnancy test: Nurse
Another girl student said she too was asked to undergo test, but has not been conducted yet
Kakinada: The Auxiliary Nursing Midwife (ANM) and some other students of the tribal welfare residential school at Zeddangi in Rajavommangi mandal of East Godavari district have confirmed the pregnancy test on a girl student of the school.
The students of the school complained about the pregnancy test issue to Rampachodavaram MLA Vanthada Rajeswari on Sunday.
According to reports, the district child welfare committee member Balu Akkisa on Monday visited the school and enquired about the incident. He took views of ANM and also some of the other students. The ANM reportedly told the committee that according to the instructions of the headmaster Sundara Rao, the girl student was taken to the government hospital at Zeddangi and the doctor of the hospital conducted a pregnancy test.

Another girl student reportedly told the committee member that she had been also asked to undergo the test, but it has not been conducted yet.
“I spoke with the students and the ANM together and also separately. Certain facts were discovered. But the victim did not attend school today she was sent to her house by the hostel authorities,” Balu Akkisa said.
He said that he would submit the report to the State child welfare committee.
However, the incident came to light when girl students complained that they were being followed and a record of their menstrual cycles was being maintained by the nurse at the behest of the Sundara Rao.
