Ranbir Kapoor to make limited appearances for 'Bombay Velvet' promotions?
The actor is uncomfortable answering personal questions
Mumbai: After all the controversy surrounding Anurag Kashyap’s ambitious project ‘Bombay Velvet’, the film will finally launch its trailer on March 19, followed by the film’s release on May 15.
Rumour has it that the lead actor Ranbir Kapoor has decided to avoid promotions or make limited appearances to avoid personal questions about his ladylove Katrina Kaif. Previously the actor stormed out of a press conference after he was asked a question about his personal life.
According to DNA, a source revealed, “After he staged a walkout of an event mid-way, his resolve of keeping his personal and professional life separate, has become stronger. He has made it clear to his makers of BV in no uncertain terms, that he will only give a handful of interviews. In fact, he wants strict instructions to be given to all media people attending the events to steer clear of personal questions, lest the focus shifts from the film.”
The report also stated that Kashyap is not too pleased with Ranbir’s decision, as the mega-budget film has already been delayed and ‘needs all the publicity’. Even though film press conferences are held for the sole purpose of promoting the film, celebrities are often plagued with a few uncomfortable personal questions. But they have their methods of dodging these tricky questions in a way that will benefit them as well as the film.
‘Bombay Velvet’, based on historian Gyan Prakash's book 'Mumbai Fables', narrates the story of how the city in '60s became a metropolis against the backdrop of love, greed, violence and jazz music. The film also stars Anushka Sharma, and marks the debut of director Karan Johar.
