Bengaluru: Kusuma Ravi, wife of IAS officer D.K. Ravi, was inconsolable, unable to come to terms with the tragedy.

“I polished his shoes and offered him socks as he was leaving for office on Monday morning. As he was stepping out, he told me, ‘You look younger and more beautiful nowadays, my dear wife.’ If he had not gone to the house in Koramangala and stayed here at this house (in Mallathahalli), this wouldn’t have happened,” she cried.

She also recollected how her husband showed her newspaper articles and TV reports where he had been mentioned in big-ticket raids. “The same newspapers and TV channels are showing you for the last time,” she cried bitterly.

Mr Ravi’s brother D.K. Ramesh, who is a farmer in Kunigal, was supported by his friends as he was fainting repeatedly. DCP South East Division, Rohini Katoch Sepat, who is heading the investigation team probing Mr Ravi’s death, was moved to tears while consoling Kusuma. “We have been family friends for a long time,” she said.
