Telangana passes resolution for bifurcation of High Court
KCR moved a resolution in the Assembly, which was supported by all Opposition parties
Hyderabad: The Telangana Legislative Assembly and Council on Wednesday unanimously approved a resolution urging the Centre to bifurcate the High Court and set up a separate High Court for Telangana at the earliest.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao moved a resolution in the Assembly, which was supported by all Opposition parties. Law minister A. Indrakaran Reddy moved the resolution in the Council, which too was approved unanimously.
Mr Rao said bifurcation of the state was incomplete without bifurcation of the High Court. He added that the government was ready to provide the required accommodation to set up the new High Court in Hyderabad without referring to whether it would be for AP High Court or TS High Court.
