Aruna says TRS leaders threatening her family
Aruna alleged that she was being targeted by the TRS legislators in the Assembly
Hyderabad: Gadwal MLA D.K. Aruna and Alair MLA G. Sunita were locked in a war of words on Wednesday with the former alleging that the latter brought a liquor dealer in the Assembly lobbies.
While Ms Sunita denied the charge in the Assembly saying that only her PRO accompanied her, Ms Aruna insisted that the TRS MLA did bring in a liquor dealer.
Excise minister T. Padma Rao dismissed the whole episode as a non-issue. “Several people come and meet me daily. Some even take photographs. Can you say everyone is a criminal? The TRS MLA met me with her PRO,” he said.
Ms Aruna also alleged that she was being targeted by the TRS legislators in the Assembly and outside for no reason.
“There are reports that Ms Suniata had brought a liquor dealer in the Assembly lobbies. I tried to raise the issue during Zero Hour yesterday, but I was not allowed. I wanted to know whether the report is true or not. The government should come clear on the issue,” Ms Aruna said at the Assembly media point.
She alleged that ruling party leaders were levelling baseless allegations against her and her family members and even threatening her. “They are trying to stifle my voice through threats and baseless allegations. They are targeting my family,” she alleged.
