Mysuru: Why did IAS officer D.K. Ravi get his personal secretary Gangadhar to book two AC deluxe rooms in the name of Hanumantharayappa, his father-in-law at Hotel Paradise which belongs to Dasprakash group of hotels and restaurants in Mysuru for the second Saturday and Sunday — a day prior to his death?

Sources at Hotel Paradise on Vivekananda Road at Yadavagiri in Mysuru confirmed to Deccan Chronicle that the two AC deluxe rooms were booked in the name of Hanumantharayappa for March 14 and 15. The rooms were booked on March 10 but later the bookings were cancelled and the rooms were not occupied, they said.

When contacted, Mr Gangadhar confirmed that “Sahebru book maadak helidru”(Saheb (D. K. Ravi) had asked me to book the rooms.) The rent of each room was '3344 and Mr Gangadhar had asked for a discount of 15 percent which was approved. While there are 90 rooms in the hotel, only 86 rooms are free for occupation. There were nine bookings for March 14 and 15 but only two bookings were cancelled including one  in the name of Mr Hanumantharayappa.

When contacted on whether he knew about the rooms being booked in the hotel by Ravi’s personal secretary, Chief Secretary, Mr Kaushik Mukherjee said, “No comments”. CID IGP Mr Pramod Ranjan Mohanty said “the investigation is on”.
