Top honchos to launch Telangana industrial approval system
Govt is targeting mega industries with investments of over Rs 200 crore
Hyderabad: Top industrialists including the Ambanis and the Tatas are expected to launch the TS government’s online single window industrial approval system soon.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has planned a mega launch of the new system in the second week of April. The trial run of the online approval system was in operation successfully for six months.
Rao has decided to send a personal invitation to Reliance group chairman Mukesh Ambani, Reliance ADAG chairman Anil Ambani, industrialist Ratan Tata, CK Birla group chairman C.K. Birla, Mahindra group chairman Anand Mahindra among others to launch the online approval system along with guidelines for operation of the TS new industrial policy TS-iPASS (TS Industrial Project Approval and Self Certification System).
The TS-iPASS that was passed in November 2014, envisages providing complete clearance to set up industries within 15 days from the date of application.
During the trial-run, the government had received about 5,300 applications with proposed investments of '2,538 crore and employment for 46,300 people.
Most of applications were from micro, small and medium enterprises.
VST Industries was the first company to get its license under TS-iPASS during the trail run period. . The industry plans on setting up a tobacco processing unit at Tupran in Medak with an investment of '80 crore and is expected to generate 600 jobs.
However, the government is targeting mega industries with investments of over '200 crore.
