Apple to reportedly launch iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, 6C
The three smartphones would be armed with Corning Gorilla Glass
Speculations and rumours regarding the next Apple handsets are hitting the Internet again. Traditionally at the mid-year launch Apple generally launched a variant of its existing handsets. Although, this is exactly what most tech researchers have been speculating this time as well, there are some rumours that Apple may even launch the iPhone 7 along with the iPhone 6S.
However, according to an online portal DigiTimes, Apple will be launching an iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and an iPhone 6C, in the second half of 2015. The report also suggested that the iPhone 6C, like the iPhone 5 series would sport a 4-inch display.
Apple like in the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C makes minor additions in the variants instead of major physical and performance overhauls. According to the report on DigiTimes, the new iPhone variants will sport a better display and chipset. The three smartphones will embrace an LTPS panel, which for iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone 6C will be supplied by Japan Display, Sharp and LG Display, and that for the iPhone 6S will come from Japan Display and LG.
Additionally, the report also suggested that the three smartphones would be armed with Corning Gorilla Glass. On the chipset front, the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will be upgraded with an A9 chipset and the iPhone 6C will be equipped with an A8 chipset.
