Hyderabad: NGO Teach For Change will launch a campaign on Saturday, spreading its services to government schools in three other states in South India.

Buoyed by tremendous response in the last one year, Teach For Change is now planning to launch in Chennai, Bengaluru and Vijayawada, providing people the opportunity to fulfil their passion and teach young students.

Teach For Change helps passionate individuals teach English, General Knowledge or any subject of their choice in government schools at times convenient for them.

The NGO will hold a fundraiser fashion show on Saturday at the Taj Falaknuma Palace, exhibiting designs by Gaurang Shah and Mangatrai Jewellers, Jubilee Hills.

Celebrities like Lakshmi Manchu, Dia Mirza, Regina Cassandra and Lavanya Tripathi will walk the ramp. The celebrities will be joined by former Union minister Shashi Tharoor, MP Kalikesh Singh Deo, Karnataka minister Roshan Baig, Swami Agnivesh and former minister Dr J. Geeta Reddy in launching the Teach For Change National Campaign.

Currently, the organisation is helping passionate volunteers teach children in about 100 government schools in Hyderabad.

It aims to begin operations in Chennai, Benga-luru and Vijayawada by the end of this year.

Chaitanya M.R.S.K., the founder and CEO of Teach for Change, said, “The response to our initiative has been huge. We have been getting applications from other cities as well and people have been telling us to spread to their cities too.”

He added, “Our initiative is already successful here so it is logical that we go to other cities and spread nationally.”

Teach For Change has about 450 volunteers currently and is aiming at expanding to 1,000 volunteers by June this year

Those who are interested in volunteering in the initiative, can register on the website www.teachforchange.in.
