Huawei’s Honor range of smartphones or phablets as some prefer to call them, have been giving stiff competition to mid-range phone manufacturers. With the Honor 4X, we now have the first-ever smart phone with two 4G SIM slots, along with camera features that beautify your selfie. Available at Rs 10,499 through Flipkart from March 30, the 4X lets you enjoy high-speed mobile data while switching between service providers or dedicating one for just calls and messages. The in-built SIM management tool lets you choose which one to use for data, calls or messaging.

The smart phone comes with 13 MP back and 5 MP front cameras, with a 22mm wide angle lens which allows you to fit an entire family in one frame. The cameras are anti-reflective and come with anti-fingerprint smudge features – small enhancements which make the phone pollution-friendly. They also feature a ‘beautify’ feature that smoothes the image by reducing visual ‘noise’. Other interesting features include the Audio Photo option that allows you to add 10 seconds of audio to your image – basically an audio tag to go with your photo.

The Honor 4X runs on a 1.2 GHz Quad Processor with 8GB built-in storage that is expandable. For the price it commands, we believe it’s a good buy, but the non-metallic, white plastic frame is a bit of a disappointment.
