Saina Nehwal became the first Indian woman shuttler to be the World No 1
Mumbai: Saina Nehwal did India proud by becoming the first woman shutteler and only the second Indian player to be the World No 1 during the recently concluded India Open Super Series in New Delhi. After becoming the top-ranked player, India's London Olympics' bronze medallist went on to clinch her maiden India Open Super Series title.

However, a poster has gone viral showing Yuva Sena’s, a youth wing of Mumbai-based Shivsena, Samrudha Shirke congratulating Sania Mirza and not Saina Nehwal for reaching the top of the rankings’ table.
Sania Mirza jumped to her career-best rank of three in the doubles, following her stupendous title win at the BNP Paribas Open with Swiss great Martina Hingis and hence, deserve all the praise. But the banner, it seems, has mistaken Sania Mirza for Saina Nehwal.
