Andhra Pradesh CM rejigs master plan for capital city
City planning in final stages, detailed report by June
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday suggested some modifications to the master plan for the capital city when the Singapore governor presented a broad outline plan of the capital city to him.
The master plan will be refined by incorporating the suggestions and modifications in the next six to eight weeks.
Mr Naidu on Monday held discussions with a high-level delegation in Singapore on the master plan and later addressed industrialists at a business meeting.
Stating that the capital city planning was at an advanced stage, Mr Naidu said that the detailed plan would be released by June this year. The AP and Singapore delegations have decided to meet in the next six weeks, when the Singapore government comes up with the revised version of the plan. The next stage will be seed capital planning.
On Monday, the first day of his Singapore visit, Mr Naidu read a note in remembrance of Singapore’s founding father Lee Kuan Yew, who died recently. Later he had a breakfast meeting with Singapore foreign affairs minister K. Shanmugam and Ambassador at Large Gopinath Pillai, followed by a meeting with Singapore’s second minister for trade and industry, Mr S. Iswaran.
During the meeting with Mr Iswaran and other delegates, the Singapore governor presented a broad outline of the capital region to which Mr Naidu suggested a few modifications.
Meanwhile, the delegation from AP gave a detailed presentation on the land pooling process and the various timelines for making the capital ready.
