This 4-year-old mistook a camera for a weapon and 'surrendered'
Adi Hudea froze in obvious terror and then raised his hands in the air
A photo of a four-year-old 'surrendering' has gone viral on social media, as the child mistook a camera for a weapon. The image shows an innocent Syrian child with fear in his eyes, lips pursed and arms raised abover his head.
A Gaza-based photojournalist Nadia Abu Shaban tweeted a picture of the child, identified as Adi Hudea, holding his hands above his head as an immediate reaction to someone trying to ‘shoot’ him with the camera, mistaking it for a weapon.

The young boy's reaction only tells us about the daily life in Syria, where children face the reality of war. According to the Daily Mail, Hudea's father died in the 2012 Hama massacre and has been living with his traumatised mother and three siblings at Camp Atmen in Turkey.
Earlier this year, the U.N. estimated that 220,000 people had been killed in the four-year conflict in Syria. The crisis has seen many fleeing and filling up camps in Turkey and other neighbouring countries.
