Andhra Pradesh seeks Governor's intervention over vehicle entry tax row with Telangana
Telangana govt started levying entry tax on AP vehicles at the border check-posts
Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday sought intervention of Governor ESL Narasimhan on the collection of entry tax by Telangana government from vehicles coming from Andhra Pradesh.
Andhra Pradesh transport minister Sidda Raghava Rao met Narasimhan, who is Governor for both the states, here on Thursday.
"We explained all the issues to the Governor. We said you should speak to Telangana government, the Chief Minister or transport minister, and do justice to us. We told him how it is causing hardship to people," he said.
Telangana government started levying entry tax on AP vehicles at the border check-posts from the midnight of March 31.
Andhra Pradesh government has objected to it, saying such a tax cannot be collected as Hyderabad is the common capital for ten years.
Several private bus operators have suspended services from AP to Hyderabad.
