Telangana State officials mum on acquisition
All these land parcels are inter-connected and its pooling will make a big chunk of prime land available to TS
Hyderabad: There is a big question mark on why Telangana requires 11 acres of land in Panjagutta. Officials from Telangana GAD and IAS Officers’ Association refused to comment.
Though the TS government has not issued any order or circular asking officers to vacate, they were told orally to vacate by April 15. Officials were shown alternate accommodation at Kundanbagh.
Speculations are rife that the prime property may be used to raise money for the government to implement its poll promises like 2BHK houses for poor, which requires thousands of crores of rupees with each house pegged at Rs 8 lakh. It may be noted that the TS government has targeted Rs 13,500 crore as earnings this year through sale of lands and LRS/ BRS schemes.
The government is also looking at taking over the SIB building land in front of the CM’s camp office in Begumpet besides the IAS Officers’ Association land.
All these land parcels are inter-connected and its pooling will make a big chunk of prime land available to TS.
Another reason being cited is that the present quarters are occupied by senior IAS officers though they were meant for junior IAS officers.
