Nanbenda is a romantic comedy film written and directed by Jagadish starring Udhayanidhi Stalin and Nayanthara.
The film revolves around two best friends, played by Sathya (Udhayanidhi) and Siva Kozhundhu (Santhanam).
The two are caught in a sticky situation and have to figure out a way to eventually come out of it.
Sathya meets Ramya (Nayanthara), a bank employee and falls for her instantly, unaware that she had spent nearly a fortnight in jail.
When Ramya tells him about it, rather than sympathizing, Sathya laughs it off. Their friendship hits a roadblock, however fate had other plans for them.
Sathya and Siva get arrested for the alleged murder of Scorpio Shankar (Rajendran) and get embroiled in a vicious circle of criminal gangs.
In the second half, the film revolves around their escape from prison and them getting out of the trouble.
The directed has managed to cleverly infuse a lot of action sequences in the film, along with well-choreographed songs.
However, the film falls prey to a weak script. The jokes are predictable and often repetitive.
The film’s music given by Harris Jayaraj is captivating and is visually appealing.
