Hyderabad: Though almost three-fourths of Greater Hyderabad will not have drinking water supply on April 4 (Saturday), no additional supply of water was provided a day before on Friday.

As per the Water Board officials, the linking of Krishna water drinking supply phase-III would begin at 6 am on Saturday. The linking process is to be completed by 9 pm on the same day. The city will get water in the early hours of April 5 (Sunday).

Reservoirs across the twin cities have been filled up in case of emergency. There would be no pipeline supply and residents can call the helpline numbers 9989995690 and 9989990824 in case of emergencies, and tankers from the nearby reservoirs will be deployed. There are a total of 86 reservoirs in the city.

The most affected areas under Krishna phase-I are Narayanguda, Barkathpura, Nallakunta, Musheerabad, Nimboliadda, Adikmet, Shivam, Chilkalguda, Boggulakunta and Mahbub Mansion, Vinaynagar, Asmnagadh, Chanchalguda, Barkas, Chandrayangutta and Santhoshnagar.

Arrangements are also being made to keep sufficient number of water tankers ready in each division to meet the demand. A temporary control room is being set up at the board office, Khairatabad, to receive the complaints from people and to send the relief immediately, said the officer.
