Hyderabad: There will be a delay in supply of drinking water by a few hours on April 5 (Sunday), stated the Water Board authorities. Earlier, it was announced that the city would receive 45 MGD of water supply in the early hours of Sunday. However, due to the ongoing Krishna phase-III linking works, the supply will be delayed by a few hours.

Meanwhile, the help line numbers 9989995690 and 9989990824 of the reservoirs kept ringing all day long on Friday for tanker supply of drinking water. There was no pipeline supply on Saturday in certain areas.

The Water Board released an official statement: “The work of interconnecting Krishna phase-III raw water pipeline to AMRP canal, Akkampally, Nalgonda district and other allied works taken up during the 24-hour shutdown of Krishna phase-I and II on April 4, Saturday, are in advanced stage of completion and are likely to be completed by late in the night. In view of this, there will be delayed water supply tomorrow (Sunday).”

Jagadeeshwar, MD Water Board, said, initially, 45 MGD would be linked and it would doubled by June end. The additional water would compensate for the loss at Osmansagar and will bring relief to areas, especially the surrounding municipalities.

The delay in water supply through tankers too would reduce considerably.
