785 bodies unclaimed in Delhi
The no of bodies of homeless people is as high as 80% of total recoveries

New Delhi: A total of 785 unidentified bodies, including those of homeless people, have been recovered in the national capital till March 30 this year, the highest number of such recoveries during the past one decade for the same period.
According to the fresh data from Zonal Integrated Police Network, Union ministry of home affairs, there has been a sharp increase in recoveries of unidentified bodies this year so far, with as many as 274 recovered in February. Since 2004, February generally has recorded the lowest number of such discoveries. A total of 263 unidentified bodies were recovered in January and as many as 248 were discovered in March.
As per the Centre for Holistic Development, which had procured the data, most of these unidentified bodies were of homeless people. The number of bodies of homeless people is as high as 80 per cent of the total recoveries.
