Hyderabad: The historic Clock Tower junction at Secunderabad could receive a much-needed facelift.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation  officials have been directed to assess the feasibility of a facelift without damage to the heritage structure. The road along the Clock Tower is also being widened by shifting electrical sub stations.

The GHMC is also mulling removal of all electrical poles situated in the middle of Secunderabad roads. Traffic barricades too could come under the removal plan. On Wednesday, officials from GHMC, the HMR and city traffic police inspected the Secunderabad area to launch quick repairs of roads and bottlenecks - mainly aimed at easing traffic congestion
