NABARD has come forward to provide the state with Rs 69 crores loan
Hyderabad: After the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) rap on the pathetic situation of junior colleges, the Telangana government plans to take up construction of classrooms, toilet, and water supply plants worth about Rs 82 crores in nearly 177 junior colleges. NABARD has come forward to provide the state with Rs 69 crores loan for the purpose while the rest would be from the state treasury.
In its report, the CAG had recently pointed out the lack of basic amenities in junior colleges in both TS and AP. The TS government on Wednesday issued orders for the construction of additional classrooms in 69 junior colleges, compound walls in 19 junior colleges, toilets and water treatment plants in 177 colleges spread across the ten districts of TS.
