Apple recently released the latest iOS 8.3 update and its full of good and bad news! The good part being, the several bug fixes and software enhancements. The new update has also ramped up the emoji keyboard with the addition of 300 new characters.

However, the bad part is pretty nasty! Post the update, the Touch ID has stopped working in the App Store for some users. Soon after the update was rolled out, threads across the Apple Support communities began to flood with queries and complaints on the Touch ID not working.

Having said that, not all iOS users are facing the problem. In Deccan Chronicle’s testing, the Touch ID works perfectly fine in the App Store. However, for many users who are in fact facing the issue, restarting the phone or tweaking the settings has done the trick. For the one’s who aren’t able to fix the problem even with these tricks, will unfortunately have to wait until Apple releases an update for it.

Other than that, there seems to be no issue with the update and the updated devices are running quite smoothly. And the ones using the iPhone 5 and below (the iPhones without the Touch ID feature), seem to be facing no problem with the device whatsoever, till now.

Additionally, Apple also released an update to Mac OS X Yosemite to introduce the new Photos app as well as for fixing certain bugs and enhancements. Also, since the two updates came in simultaneously, syncing photos between the two devices will be quite smooth.

It is disappointing that what could have been a perfect update for the Apple devices, with both iOS 8.3 and Max OS X 10.10 being rolled out, turned into a headache for many due to the Touch ID glitch. We hope Apple fixes the problem soon!
