Sultanpur: A 30-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly held captive, raped and forced to convert by a man and his two other associates here, police said today.

According to a complaint filed by the victim yesterday, accused Tauhid along with his wife Tabassum and brother-in-law Pappu held the woman captive for the past five months at his residence.

The accused brought her to the house on the pretext of getting her a job. The man raped her and forced to adopt the religion, police said. However, she managed to escape on Wednesday and reached an Ashram where she narrated the whole incident, they said.

Superintendent of Police, Sonia Singh ordered a probe into the incident as soon as a case was registered and an FIR was lodged against the three accused.

Medical examination was done on the victim, police said, adding the investigation is underway and no arrests have been made so far in this connection.
