Hyderabad: TRS organisational elections are on, but many party leaders are still eyeing nominated posts. They find party posts unrewarding after a long struggle in the Telangana movement.
However, such leaders are trying to push in their aides and kin for the party posts while they await nominated posts to be filled in by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.
However, newcomers and also turncoats, who joined the party, find organisational posts a good footing to begin with. The organisational elections are to be completed by party plenary on April 24.
Though it is 10 months since the formation of the government, several party leaders are still awaiting nominated posts. However, some party leaders and others close to the CM during the Telangana movement have got posts. But there are several others who are still waiting anxiously.
The CM had promised hundreds of nominated posts including corporation chairmen and chairpersons, board of directors, market committee chairpersons and members, temple committees among others for party activists.
In fact, for certain key corporations like RTC there are innumerable aspirants including Donthu Rama Mohan, Dr Rakesh and others while Telugu Desam MLA turned TRS leader Teegala Krishna Reddy wants HMDA.
The list is long. It is a fact senior party leaders are not keen on party posts, but want nominated posts. Similarly, those who could not get party tickets or lost the polls and others are looking at nominated posts.
