Watch: Kalki Koechlin asks to stop judging in this hard-hitting short film
The actress will feature in critically acclaimed film 'Margarita with a straw'
Mumbai: The movie 'Margarita with a straw' has received accolades from film critiques and reviewers, who called it an 'emotionally direct study of disability and sexuality'. In an interesting marketing strategy, Viacom 18 released a short film sealing it with a hard-hitting message.
The short film puts forth that there's only one place where judgments belong - a court of law. Definitely not in society. People are extremely quick to judge people. Like a beefed up and burly man, with tattoos and piercing all over him, holding a lighter, is oblivion about the happenings and wouldn't bother to help a person in need. The film questions why people are we so quick to judge a person? Its high time that we all stop judging, start living.
'Margarita with a straw' is a story that revolves around a rebellious young woman with cerebral palsy leaves her home in India to study in New York, unexpectedly falls in love, and embarks on an exhilarating journey of self-discovery. The film's director, Shonali Bose, has also been praised for handling issues of a student, Laila’s, refusal to let cerebral palsy interfere with her life and love, with dignity.
