The film revolves around a man who goes against all odds to become a ‘big shot’
Mumbai: The first song of 'Bombay Velvet', 'Fifi', had Anushka lip-syncing to Geeta Dutt's iconic song 'Jaata Kahaan Hain Diwane' from the Dev Anand starrer 'CID'. Set against the backdrop of ambition, love, greed, and jazz – ‘Bombay Velvet’ is the story of one ordinary man who goes against all odds and forges his destiny to become a ‘Big Shot’. A lot of similarities can be drawn between 'Mohabbat Buri Beemari' and the first song 'Fifi'.
The song manages to 'pack a punch' within the first few seconds and establishes the relationship that Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma's characters share. Though the trailer had Karan Johar take away all the limelight, this song focuses on Ranbir and his adventures. The song has a neo-noir feel to it which takes mystery quotient a notch higher.
