Hyderabad: The Telangana government’s plan to develop Hyderabad as a global city got a shot in the arm with construction major Shapoorji Pallonji promising to invest Rs 20,000 crore to build flyovers, grade separators at junctions and roads in the city. Company chairman Shapoor Mistry met Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday and expressed interest in partnering with the government.

Medak, which is home to several manufacturing plants, got yet another from MRF. MRF plans to set up a new tyre plant in the district, in addition to the one already there with a Rs 1,000 crore investment.
