Why you may not see them on screen

These real life siblings/cousins are waiting for a great script that’ll justify their teaming up on screen

Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor
These celebrity siblings/cousins would make for a great onscreen adventure as well. But while filmmakers would love to cast these high profile sibling pairs, the lack of a good script has prevented that from happening so far. Here are some of B-town’s actors who we’d love to see recreate their real life siblinghood on the big screen:

Sonam Kapoor-Ranveer Singh-Arjun Kapoor

Not many are aware that Ranveer Singh is actually Sonam Kapoor’s second cousin. While Sonam has said that they haven’t been offered a film together yet, Sonam and Ranveer have discussed how an action film would be ideal for their onscreen debut as a pair. “It’s impossible to even imagine mouthing romantic lines when you have your cousin standing in front of you. It’s extremely weird!” says Sonam.

Apart from Ranveer, there is also Sonam’s first cousin Arjun Kapoor. Sonam has said that she’d love to do a film like Fiza with Arjun as the bond that the characters of Karisma Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan share in the film is the same as the bond Arjun and she share in real life. “I’m extremely protective of Arjun,” says Sonam.
What works in Arjun and Sonam’s favour is that they could very well have a home production starring them both.

“As a producer, I’m open to the idea of meeting writers. If there is any story that can bring Arjun and me together — not as romantic leads, but strong characters — I’ll definitely give it a thought,” Sonam says.

Kareena Kapoor-Ranbir Kapoor

“I think a lot of actresses out there should be happy that Ranbir and I cannot be paired opposite each other. That slot is gladly open for my colleagues,” says Kareena, of working with her cousin Ranbir. Ranbir, Kareena (and for that matter, even Karisma) have clarified that they won’t do a film together unless it is bigger than their family brand. “I don’t think we’ll do a film just to make headlines. If there is a script that justifies our relationship and our onscreen image, we’ll definitely go ahead with it,” said Ranbir.

Alia Bhatt-Emraan Hashmi

These cousins haven’t yet been seen together in a film, but there’s no reason to assume that it won’t happen in the future. The Bhatts don’t exactly make run-of-the-mill films, so that in itself holds out the hope that they might explore a script where Alia and Emraan could be cast together — albeit not as each other’s romantic interests. “I don’t think that the audience will accept Emraan and me paired opposite each other,” Alia has clearly said.
