Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch police have arrested an accused in the honey-trap case involving Kannada cine actor Nayana Krishna. The accused had eluded arrest for several months after his associates were nabbed.

The accused has been identified as K Hemanth Kumar, 29, of Brindavana Nagar in Srinagar and a native of Malavalli taluk in Mandya. He was working as a video editor in three regional news channels.

According to the police, the accused along with actor Nayana Krishna and others allegedly introduced girls, who came to them seeking a chance in Kannada movies, to reputed doctors and industrialists. Later, they used to convince the girls to have sex with them and record it in hidden camera. Then, they used to extort money from the men.

“In this connection we had earlier arrested Nayana Krishna, Sanjana, Mallesh, a constable, Sunil Kumar, a travel agency owner, and ‘Gym’ Raghu alias Raghavendra. But Hemanth was absconding. He was arrested near Corporation Circle on Thursday. He revealed that he was in Mandya,” police said.
