HyderabadWhile the traffic police is sending e-challan notices for pending violations to people, the online payment mode is full of glitches.

Users say that the website often hangs and displays error messages like, “Your previous payment is still in progress, try again tomorrow,  etc”. Officials too admit the system has technical glitches. Glitches like the option of bank payment not appearing at all, certain bank icons not opening and transaction failures are common on the system.

Technical snags have been an issue from the time the online payment option started. “On a previous occasion, when I tried to make an online payment thorough net banking, the option of net banking itself was not reflecting on the system for a couple of days. This was about a month- and-a-half back,” said Sai Suresh, a motorist who had two pending challans.

Over the last three days, the net banking option for a few banks have not been opening.
The traffic police had recently announced that they would send pending challan notices and on receiving the same, recipients would have to pay within 15 days, failing which defaulters would face jail terms.

After the announcement, e-challan payments have seen a huge jump in the city and roughly 100 to 150 notices are being sent out each day pertaining to the 32 listed traffic violations.

DCP traffic, Cyberabad, Avinash Mohanty said, “Sometimes technical issues do crop up in the system and it mostly happens with particular payment gateways. Whenever we receive such a complaint, the issue is resolved.”
