Kozhikode leads with 98.97 per cent pass
Malappuram records highest student turnout in state
KOZHIKODE: Malabar districts put up a good show in the SSLC results. Kozhikode topped with 98.97 per cent victory, up from last year’s 97.14, and 1874 students got full A+.
Kannur is in the fifth position with 98.87 per cent win whereas Kasargod (97.81) and Wayanad (97.44) are in 10th and 11th positions.
Education minister Abdu Rabb’s Malappuram is in the 13th position with 96.88 per cent pass. Out of the 48,007 students appeared for exams from Kozhikode, 47,513 are eligible for higher studies.
In Kannur, out of the 36,527 students who wrote the exams, 36,113 qualified for higher studies. Last year, the district got 98.46 pc results. A total of 1,384 students got full A plus.
In Kasaragod, 19,437 out of 19,872 students qualified, 391 of them with full A+. Last year, the winning per cent for district was 96.69 pc.
Wayanad showed a remarkable improvement when the percentage went up to 97.44 from 93.55 per cent in 2014. A total of 12,201 students appeared out of which 11,889 were eligible for higher studies with 213 full A+.
Malappuram, though second last in the ranking, improved the winning per cent from 95.71 in 2014 to 96.88 per cent.
A total of 79,663 students appeared for exam from Malappuram, highest in the state and 77,179 qualified, 1913 of them with A+ in all subjects, which is also the highest in the State.
