Bengaluru: The tiger experts in Karnataka are skeptical about the Tiger Reserve for Karnataka by the Union Environment ministry on Tuesday. The Union Minister Prakash Javdekar announced in Lok Sabha that Kudremukh National Park and Rajaji National Park in Uttarakhand will be the new Tiger Reserves.

However, the wildlife conservationists in the State, who have been demanding the Status of tiger reserve for Kudremukh are not sure whether the area will get the status, as there has been opposition from the locals.

In addition, the Naxalites have taken up the issue of Kudremukh, spreading misinformation campaign among the locals that they will be displaced if the area becomes a Tiger Reserve.
