9 people convicted in 2007 doctors manhandling case

Nine people sent to rigorous imprisonment for six months and imposed fine

HyderabadThe sixth additional chief metropolitan magistrate sentenced nine people to rigorous imprisonment  for six months and imposed fine for attacking junior doctors at Niloufer Hospital in 2007.
 
In 2007, junior doctors were on a month-long strike. Two separate cases were booked against late Afzal Khan, then local legislator, and his supporters for threatening and manhandling junior doctors. 
 
The convicted are — Nasirullah Khan, Irfan Mirza, Parvez Khan, Mohd Noor, Hashmi Singh, Shakeer, Mohd Nayeem  Junaid Khan and Ayub Khan. They were fined Rs 1,500.
