Respite for art lovers at Andhra University
The exhibition will continue till April 26 from 10 am to 8 pm, says Maheswara Das
Visakhapatnam: Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.S.N. Raju on Thursday inaugurated the Graduation Show-2014, an exhibition of paintings, sculptures and prints organised by the final year students of department of fine arts, Andhra University on the department premises.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor said there is more than one way of expressing emotions and painting, being one of them, has a lot of scope. The works of AU students speak volumes if one wants to see emotions through art, he added.
The sculptures made with pieces of iron, wood and other material was the centre of attraction as they depicted the culture and tradition of various regions in the country. The students of the department said language of emotions is about artistic synergy and thematic synchrony.
Head of the department Maheswara Das said the exhibition will continue till April 26 from 10 am to 8 pm and added that the paintings and sculptures in the exhibition recall in the spectators mind the biblical images and sculptures.
