Man loses Rs 9 lakh for Rs 10 notes

A 61- year-old farmer has claimed that he lost his cash bag containing Rs 9 lakhs

Coimbatore: Losing Rs 9 lakhs to pick a few Rs 10 rupee notes scattered on the road. A  61- year-old farmer in Pollachi on Thursday has claimed that he lost his cash bag containing Rs 9 lakhs when he bent down to pick  a few Rs 10 notes on the road dropped by a smart robber.
 
According to the police, the farmer Balakrishnan  of Pollachi leased out his six acre land to  Murugan of  Gudimangalam, for  three years and received Rs 9 lakh in cash as lease amount.  
 
After receiving the bundle of Rs 9 lakh he had placed it inside the front pouch of his bike. On the way to his house, he had stopped at a bakery  to have a cup of tea. Just as he was to set off after having tea, his bike keys accidentally fell down. 
 
When he was about to pick the key, he saw several ten rupee notes scattered on the ground. He patiently collected each one of it and then when he got back to his bike, he found the Rs 9 lakh bundle missing from the front pouch. 
 
He lodged a complaint with the Pollachi East Police station. The police are conducting an enquiry to check  the veracity of his claim.
