DPI contradicts PK Abdu Rabb, new SSLC results today
The DPI told reporters on Friday that he would submit the final report on the issue soon
Thiruvananthapuram: Director of Public Instruction K. Gopalakrishna Bhat has said that the anomalies in the SSLC results had occurred at the valuation centres while entering data in the software. His opinion is contrary to the view expressed by Education Minister P.K. Abdu Rabb that the problems with the software developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) had caused the anomalies.
The DPI’s opinion is part of the effort to shift the blame from the NIC to the data entry operators as the former had expressed its displeasure to the DPI over putting the blame on the software.
The DPI told reporters on Friday that he would submit the final report on the issue soon. There were also complaints of security breach in handling the software in the Pareeksha Bhavan.
The software was allegedly used without conducting a proper trial run as the system manager post was lying vacant. Kerala Pradesh School Teachers Union (KPSTU) president P. Harigovindan told that DC that the post had been vacant from January to December 2014.
The secret password was handed over to the superintendent of Pareeksha Bhavan by the outgoing system manager. The superintendent, who did not have sufficient software knowledge, gave the password to other technical staff in the Pareeksha Bhavan. “This is a breach of secrecy,” Mr Harigovindan said.
