KCR to give land on city outskirts

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has promised to allot hundreds of acres for defence establishments in Ranga Reddy district on the city outskirts to house all the military installations and units at a single place.
Mr Rao has agreed to allot 2,900 acres of Dammagudem reserve forest land to the Indian Navy at Pudur mandal in RR district in July 2014. It is about 65 km from the city to set up Very Low Frequency station and Communication Station, which according to the defence ministry is a strategic location to monitor the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean signals from this station.
This apart, Mr Rao had also offered 1,500 acres to set up an Air Force Station in Adilabad in September 2014 and land acquisition is expected to be completed soon.
