Hyderabad: Thousands of buses and other vehicles and cabs will fetch people from different parts of the state for the TRS plenary. “We expect a minimum of 50,000 people from faraway districts like Adilabad and Khammam but for all other districts it would be more than a lakh each. We took extra care to see people get covered vehicles due to the summer heat,” IT minister Rama Rao said.
Incidentally, this is going to be the first public meeting organised by the pink party after coming to power 11 months ago. It had earlier planned to organise ‘Telangana Victory March and Meet’ but had to abandon it due to various reasons including the unexpected cyclone warning a few months ago. It also planned to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the meet to bless the newly-formed state. “It will be a purely TRS show this time. Only Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao would be the star attraction and nobody else,” Mr Rama Rao said.
He also said they cannot avoid having the massive public meeting on a working day, since April 27 happened to be the party’s formation day. He appealed to the citizens to bear with the show and cooperate.
However, people will be inconvenienced as the meeting is scheduled to begin at Parade Grounds around 5 pm. Hyderabad City Traffic Department is working on route diversions for general traffic.
