Hyderabad: The ongoing Metro works have resulted in a number of traffic diversions to keep congestions at bay but many of these roads are not motorable. GHMC is responsible for carpeting these diversion roads as per the understanding with the HMR authorities. They are, however, failing to maintain the roads.

The diversion points connecting Madhapur to KBR Park is one such example. The diversion was opened about two months ago due to congestion at the signal as well as on the entire stretch of Madhapur and Jubilee Hills road no 36.  However, out of the 3.6-km stretch of diversion, roughly 2 km is full of potholes. “The road has insufficient lighting and vehicles use dangerous high beams,” said commuter P. Dipankar.
