Mumbai: Much to the amusement of readers and annoyance of a BMW car dealer in China, a woman decided to purchase a BMW 730 Li luxury sedan in cash. As surprising as this is, it doesn’t end there. She purchased the car worth RMB 10,000,000 or Rs 10,203,802 in small denomination bank notes. That’s like purchasing the car with a mountain of currency notes.

The woman, who didn’t wish to be named runs a food retail business and purchased the car with a bundle of one-Yuan banknotes. The notes were tied in several bundles, which collectively weighed upto 100 kg. The balance amount of the car was paid with her credit card.

According to Zhengzhou Evening Post, the woman was often busy and decided to save the small denomination notes until she could purchase a car for herself.

Li Moran, general manager of the car dealers, said the purchase had been the first time he and his staff had counted so much cash.

News and photographs of the bizarre purchase method have gone viral on social media.
