CM Oommen Chandy pooh-poohs stability rumours
The chief minister said the UDF Government would go ahead with the pro-people policies
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Wednesday said that there was no threat to the stability of UDF Government.
When asked about former Government Chief Whip P C Goerge’s prediction that the UDF Government would fall within three months, the chief minister said; “Has there been any doubt about the stability of this government during the last four years. This is India. Anybody can say anything here. How can one prevent it.”
When informed about the reports of dissent in his own party, Mr Chandy quipped: “This is what is Congress.” The chief minister said he was not aware of the reports about leadership change in the UDF.
“You people create these stories then put questions,” he said. The chief minister said the UDF Government would go ahead with the pro-people policies.
When his attention was drawn towards George’s plea made at a recent public meeting in Aryanad that Mani was not throwing him out of the party and at least the chief minister should ensure his ouster failing which he would continue to wreck the UDF Government from within. The chief minister replied, “Does anyone require any permission for that ?
