New Delhi: Taking a serious view of the “irresponsible and scandalous” remarks made by advocate M.L. Sharma against politicians and MPs in his petition challenging the validity of the National Judicial Appointments Commission law, the Supreme Court on Friday issued showcause notice to him as to why he should  not be debarred from filing PILs in future.

A five-judge Constitution Bench comprising Justices J.S. Khehar, J. Chelameswar, Madan B. Lokur, Kurian Joseph, was shocked and annoyed on seeking Mr Sharma’s averments in the petition and told him “this is not a political platform.” Justice Khehar told the counsel “We don’t want any political allegations. You do it in every case.”
