Security tightened for IPL games to be played in Hyderabad
Cyberabad police made elaborate security arrangements for the IPL matches
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police have made elaborate security arrangements for the IPL matches to be held on May 2, 11, 15 and 17 May at the Rajiv Gandhi Inetrnational Cricket Stadium at Uppal.
As many as 1,200 police personnel —about 250 from Security Wing, 270 from Traffic, 600 from Law and Order, two units of Octopus, 5 platoons of Armed Forces, Special Branch, Central Crime Station staff, two fire tenders with fire fighting squad — will be on watch for the match.
A total of 60 surveillance cameras have been installed at places to cover the entire area. A command and control room too has been established under the supervision of an inspector to monitor them.
Separate teams have been deployed for checking the movements of anti-social elements and police visibility enhanced. SHE teams have also been deployed to keep a watch on eve teasers.
The Cyberabad police said spectators will not be allowed to carry articles into the stadium like bags, cameras, binoculars, other electronic gadgets, eatables, carriages, water bottles which can be used as missiles to be thrown onto the ground.
Traffic restrictions
Adequate signage boards have been erected at different places to guide the spectators to the stadium. In view of ongoing metro Rail works, spectators will not be allowed to park their vehicles on either sides of the main road from Genpact to Uppal ring road.
Parking
The entry for G-1 and G-2 car pass holders is from Ramanthapur side (LG Godown). They should park their vehicles in ‘A’ and ‘B’ areas near the G-1 entry. Those with passes for entries through outer gates G-2, G-3 and G-11 should make their way from Ramanthapur road (towards stadium) and park their vehicles in single line on either side of the road stretching from Ramanthapur main road (HP petrol bunk) to KV-I.
Entry
The police have suggested that physically challenged persons with passes come from the Ramanthapur road and can enter the stadium through Gate No-3 (Service Entry) after parking their vehicles at parking place-B.
Spectators with passes for entry through Gates G-4 to G-9 should enter the stadium from Habsiguda-Uppal main road (via Ek-Minar mosque) and park their vehicles at the Penguin ground. Those holding complimentary passes for corporate boxes with have access through Gates G-6 and G-7 should enter the stadium from Ek-Minar mosque and park their vehicles at the Penguin ground.
Police have also announced that heavy goods vehicles coming from L.B. Nagar and Warangal routes would not be allowed towards Habsiguda and will be diverted at Uppal crossroads to pass through Chengicherla crossroads (Warangal route) to reach Mallapur Bridge.
Heavy goods vehicles coming from ECIL, Kushaiguda, Cherlapally towards Uppal crossroads will be diverted via Mallapur Bridge, Chengicherla crossroads (Warangal route) and L.B.Nagar Junctions. These restrictions will be in force on May 2, 11, 15 and 17 between 2 pm and late night.
