Mumbai: The 23-year-old Mandeep Singh, who starred in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s win over Kolkata Knight Riders in Bangalore on Saturday, made Virat Kohli (his captain) proud with his 18-ball 45. Later, the whole bunch led by Kohli, smudged the youngster’s face with cake.
The knock, that included three sixes and four boundaries, proved costly for Kolkata after they put up 111 in a rain-hit 10-over match.
“That’s how we roll. Last game, it was Sarfaraz (Khan), this time Mandeep. I’m the proudest captain right now,” said Kohli, on the young guns in the team stepping up when it matters.
“It’s a dream come true,” said Mandeep.
Yuzvendra Chahal was the first one to smash Mandeep’s face on the cake. Later, Kohli was seen feeding him a piece.
